Where the heck were you at when you read the news that USC and UCLA would be joining the Big Ten? I thought this was a joke when I read it.
No way that two west coast teams would want to come play in the big bad winter terrain that is the Big Ten. NO SHOT! But then….. it was true. Pure excitement for the simple fact that this makes the Big Ten just as good and takes all the burden off of Ohio State to just dominate this conference year after year. Last year was a shoot your shot at a very hot girl type year for Michigan and it just happened. Those things don’t last. Clearly, look at recruiting. Off that topic because that’s not why we are here. USC has the type of ability to compete for Big Ten titles pretty frequently given the brand that the university has, but also with Lincoln Riley and how he can recruit. This will be interesting going forward and I think this just adds more excitement to college football and the recent jump towards forming mega conferences.
